Kalypso Media and Gaming Minds Studios have lifted the curtain at Gamescom 2025: Tropico 7 is officially on the way! And of course, no one less than El Presidente himself was there – fresh from his supposedly reluctant luxury vacation, rocking sunglasses, a suitcase full of suspiciously stamped passports, and his trademark confidence. In 2026, he’ll once again take the throne to push the city-building genre to brand-new heights – literally and figuratively.
“Tropico 7” stays true to the beloved formula but shakes things up with some exciting new features. For the very first time, El Presidente will sit face-to-face with faction leaders – or rather, he can sweet-talk them, manipulate them, or simply ignore them altogether. More voices, more drama – the perfect playground for someone who’s always been great at bending reality to fit his worldview.
One of the biggest highlights is the brand-new terraforming feature. Players can now shape their islands however they like: raise mountains, reroute rivers, or build lush parks from scratch. After all, beauty has always been the most convincing form of politics.
But that’s far from everything: the new political alignment system allows you to craft your very own style of dictatorship. Depending on the path you choose, you’ll unlock tailor-made decrees – whether they’re meant to keep citizens happy or keep them in line through fear. This is further supported by an overhauled military system, complete with a special tactical twist that El Prez is, allegedly, still perfecting himself.
And if strategy alone doesn’t cut it? Then it’s time to unleash some creative chaos! Send in agents, stage flashy PR stunts, or simply let El Presidente’s legendary charisma do the work. Because one thing’s for sure: ruling isn’t just about power – it’s about style, and having plenty of fun while you’re at it.
